Maple Eighth-Grade Graduation Photo Opportunity Available on June 10!

District 30's Board of Education pose with Superintendent Dr. Brian Wegley, Principals Dr. Nate Carter, and Betty Holzkopf at the 2019 graduation ceremony.

Dear Parents and Graduates,

Thank you for your patience and understanding, as we navigate this global pandemic and its impact on our celebrations and end-of-the-year activities. Please know that we will continue to do our best to honor our students as we end the year at Maple School.

Our plan includes an opportunity for graduates to drive up to the front of the school and have their pictures taken in their gown and with their diploma. We will have a special area set up adjacent to the “Maple School” sign located at the front entrance to Maple. Students will be asked to stand under a special graduation balloon arch and Beth Preis, our Director of Communication, will snap their picture… Smile! These photos will be uploaded to our social media sites for everyone to enjoy.

Our drive-up celebration honoring the graduating class of 2020 will occur on Wednesday,  June 10 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., after drop-off and pick-up for each advisory.

The materials that you receive will include student diplomas. Parents should follow directions for drop-off and pick-up first, as originally planned, and then proceed down the bus lane to the front of the building for pictures and congratulatory cheers!

● Upon completion of drop-off/pick-up at respective advisories, proceed down the bus lane to the front of the building

● Students should be wearing their graduation gown and ribbon before exiting the car for a picture

● Take the diploma from the trunk for your photo opportunity

● Only one parent and student may exit the vehicle for the picture

To be safe, we must follow the recommendations from the Center For Disease Control (CDC) and State/Local Health Departments, as well as the latest information from the Glenview/Northbrook Coronavirus Task Force. There should be no gathering around the school after the pictures. We ask respectfully that parents and families adhere to this important expectation.

Thank you for helping to make our graduates feel special! We will miss them!

Nate Carter and Betty Holzkopf
