District 30 Receives Donation from the Lew Blond Run

On behalf of the Lew Blond Run, Maple Principal and Lew Blond Run Executive Committee Chair, Dr. Nate Carter presented a check for $7,500 to District 30 schools, during a December 12 Board of Education meeting. For over 19 years, this fundraiser has helped support special projects at Maple, Wescott, and Willowbrook Schools.

The Lew Blond Run Committee also makes annual donations to the Les Turner ALS Foundation to help fund ALS research, and gives District 225 scholarship funds for Maple alums who are graduating seniors.

Superintendent Dr. Wegley with Board President Ursula Sedlak expressed their deep appreciation for the Lew Blond Run committee, which coordinates this annual event.

This year's "20th Anniversary" Lew Blond Run takes place at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Maple School. There will be a brand new course this year too!
