Maple Musicians' Winter Concert Wows Audience

Maple Musicians' Winter Concert Wows Audience

On December 9, Maple School musicians performed their Winter Concert for the first time in the cafetorium. The String Orchestra, sixth-grade Choir, Chamber Strings, Jazz Band, Concert Choir, and Symphonic Band treated the parent audience to holiday and other special songs throughout the evening.

Band Director Ben Clemons, Music/Choir Director Decima Panitch, and Orchestra Director Renee Yoo work with students every morning, as they hone their skills, and it shows in every performance.

Guest pianist Julie Gibson Lay accompanied Decima Panitch's sixth-grade and Concert Choirs as they sang "Minka," "S'vivon", "Nutcracker Jingles," "Children, Go Where I Send Thee," "Hanukkah, Hanukkah", "Stopping By the Woods on a Snowy Evening," and a Maple longtime favorite, "Ring Out the Old Year, Ring in the New!"

Ms. Yoo's String Orchestra and Chamber Strings performed "Night Shift", "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Chanukah, Oh Chanukah," "String a Song of Christmas," "Amadeus," "A Whole New World," "Hanukkah Habanera," and "Sleigh Ride."

Ben Clemmons Jazz Band and Symphonic Band belted out "The Hanukkah Song," "Frosty the Snowman," "Galena Sunset," "Chameleon," "Hanukkah Holiday," "Mozart at the North Pole," and "John Williams: Movie Adventures."
